Guide to Designing a Law Logo
Law logos that most firms use are already over used. A gavel or the scales of justice are found in almost every law firm logo you find, and they think that this is something good to put in their logos, and everybody thinks that way. If you want a logo that stands out, then you should try to do something creative about what you have now. Here are some ideas that can help you create a better looking logo than you now have.
Classic designs are actually great. You can communicate what a lawyer does by using a pillar, the scales of justice, or a gavel. People right away know that you have a law firm with these symbols. You logo should be more than just the picture of a gavel. Be creative and add something to your logo. Newspapers, lighthouses, and even animals can be used to create a gavel and pillars. If you have an old icon, give it something new; be creative.
You can also create a logo from a single point. The first letter of one of your partner’s names can be a good example. A good letter is that which can be found in many partners’ names, if possible. If you make the logo focus on a single letter especially one of the rare ones, then it could be a good way for your brand to be known well. If you are Zanes Law, then you can use the letter Z to be part of your logo.
It is through your logo that people will know what your specialty is. Divorce lawyers can use a man and a woman to be a part of their logo. A person on crutches would be a good logo for a personal injury lawyer. Scales of justice can be portrayed with marijuana leaves. This is ideal for a niche market. There can be a connection made with your customers if you use these types of logos. It tells them exactly what you do and how you can help them.
You can also use you law firm’s name in your logo. Your name can have the power to attract clients to your firm. This is one way to build your reputation or your brand. You will have a problem with your logo if it is not well designed. If you pair the name with an icon or a monogram then it can give a professional stamp to it. When people sees your logo, they should be made confident to trust in the integrity of your business.
